Certainly handled himself very well. Questioned on Rob Green and how he must feel mugged that we bought Cesar. Beard said its down to MH to pick the team, strength in depth and that the players have to fight for their positions all across the squad. Also said he wished Barton all the best but got the feel that they knew he wouldn't play for us again.
Looking into stadium as we need to grow and need the revenue a bigger stadium will bring.

Down to the squad and Hughes to perform on the pitch. No pressure on mark, look at 10 games and see how we do.

Anyone see it? Spoke very well without saying anything we haven't heard before.Jim White asked do we have a £35 mill wage bill Phil side stepped him expertly and said he won't go into figures but the club are really comfortable with it and the business we did.New Stadium is in the plan and we are progressing towards it. When JW asked when JB got on the plane for France did you think good riddance?, and PB said he wished JB all the best and had done what was best for QPR, and that Joey needs to go and get a good year of football under his belt. He is off our wage bill too, at least at the moment.

Find this hard to believe. The only reason Marseille have gone in for him is cos they're skint.

Maybe Barton agreed to cut down his wages so he could get his "dream move" to L'OM.

Yep, Riggs a master at his job
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

Indeed, I think this decision was taken early this summer. Joey was probably considered huuuuuge badwill to the club and had to be "shipped away" abroad.

Got the impression a JB move to a lower div english team wasn't in QPR's interest either by what Phil said... Thought he was spot on with his comments! Didnt #### off Barton, but didn't show any sign of welcoming him back in future. Loved the way he turned round JW's question about the £35M wage bill.

Indeed, probably due to the media interest it would hade created, in that case QPR would be in the mud anyway. Really smart thinking..

Lower League English Clubs also have very tight wage structures and any deal would have meant we would have been picking up a lot of his wages. Beard says he's off our wage bill and there is simply no reason to disbelieve that so it's great business. Add to that the fact Barton's profile will be higher playing in Ligue 1 than anywhere below the PL in England and it makes it far more feasible for him to get a decent move after this deal comes to an end.
