Really dismayed with some of the negativity from our fans.

We've gone to the champions, who have spent untold money, and who will hammer alot of teams at their place.

Let's not forget where we have come from, compare this performance to the last game of the season where we just put the whole team behind the ball had 3 shots and had the lowest number of passes in premier league history. Today we actually passed the ball around, posed a threat and looked fairly solid althought ferdinand is certainly a concern.

Remember this league has 3 tiers in terms of quaility, against the big teams away its almost a write off. We are simply not in that leauge.

    Speical mentions to
Nelsen- Total leader, credit to his profession
Fabio- His best game for us
    Boswinga- The boy is quality
Faurlin- Tough fixture to come back in and didnt look out of his depth at all
Granero- Absoulute find, what is it with the Spainish and thier ball players
Zamora-Covered every blade of grass, Cisse could learn alot from that if he wonders why he was subbed

And to all those fans moaning how about getting to Manchester and supporting the boys, we have come along way and are blessed to have the owners we have. These are good times. I remember the likes of Rehman, malcolm, armel. GET BEHIND THE PROJECT AND STOP WHINEGING

Absolutely spot on posts, we will be fine we have invested in some very good players and when all fit and available will have lots of options.

Having only just to back in the last hour or so can't believe the negativity, on another dy could have well got something from the game and still have very good players to come in, Cesar, Mbia, Diakite etc etc.

The team and Hughes need our support not the constant moaning, get a reality check

agree it takes time and was never gonna get anything from this game but "on another day could well have got something" ? really? we were totally outclassed by a team that was in 2nd gear for most of the match because they didnt need to go up any higher. We wont go down this season and should be safe but lets not kid ourselves we have a bunch of mercenary individuals whom MH might or might not be able to mold into a team. Time will tell.

Agree with everything said. Lots of positives and something to work on over the international break when the team can gel further and take into the Chelsea game, who will have their shocking performance the other night in their mind when we play them. plus hopefully many wary travellers from the internationals.... could be a good time to play them.

A loss at home to Swansea where we're thoroughly humiliated - at our fortress - in a match where everyone predicted we'd win... and there's barely a minor message board ripple.

A loss on the road at Man City where we hang tough - at a place no one wins at - in a match where everyone predicted we'd get humiliated... and it's WORLD WAR THREE!

              Strange...

You're kidding right? After Swansea was worse, barely but worse.

too soon! our shocking away record goes back a long way. In case you've forgotten, we were awful for long stretches of last season, under Mark Hughes. Our close season performances highlighted where the problems were going to be. And so it goes on. The players do their best, they are not responsible for this mess.

Only worse if your last name is Green. I don't recall anyone calling for Mark Hughes after Swansea...

Try quoting the whole of my post, you a journalist or something?
Last season he was stuck with players that struggled with his tactics, awful or not we survived. Now we are bedding in the new players and the Hughes team is building momentum.

This was one game where I was not disappointed with a lose. We showed a lotta positives and can only get better.
Just glad that we have these games early in the season...unlike last term.

second half for me was promising and i think the 3-1 scoreline was a little unfair on the basis of how we performed in the second half. we created chances...it will all take time.
                            come on you r's!

dont think it was mate, most people were saying ah well its only the first game, at least we've got that battering out of the way, lets dust ourselves down and move on.
