This just appeared on SSN :Reports in France claim Marseille's Stephane Mbia has travelled to London to undergo a medical at Queens Park Rangers as Joey Barton is poised to make the move in the opposite direction.

Sky jump the gun quite a bit but i thought it was worth sharing.

It reportedly fell through the other week because they wanted to sell to get a fee and permanently remove him from the wage bill, as opposed to a loan. So i would assume this is a perm deal.

The fact the club never confirmed all this rubbish about Joey being given a free transfer, if he does indeed go there i would imagine theres some factoring of his reduced value to lower the cost to us of Mbia....

They're too obsessed with their Barton love in to do any actual research.

Besides, Mbia i'm sure doesnt require a media fanfare when arranging his travel plans for medicals etc. Given our boards professionalism they certainly wont broadcast anything, and hopefully Mbia and his agent are equally professional to do things discreetly before there's anythign to announce.

I think he will come and can't wait to see him and Cesar, and possibly Grenaro / Carvalho line up for the Hoops.... mind blowing to even be contemplating such players in an Rs shirt.
