  • Only 3 strikers

Great to see a few good defenders on their way, badly needed but am I the only one concerned that after releasing so many strikers we will find ourselves very thin on the ground,3 strikers simply isnt enough and all have had injury problems in the past,we need another striker.

I don't think Hughes would have left Bothroyd and DJ out of the squad were it not for the fact he's got his eye on at least one more striker.

Boy wonder: QPR plot £3.5m swoop for Young Boys of Bern striker Mayuka

QPR are ready to snap up Zambia international striker Emmanuel Mayuka from Swiss side Young Boys of Bern.

Hoops boss Hughes will try to do a £3.5million deal for the 21-year-old, who has found the net on a regular basis for club and country since leaving his homeland in 2008.

But he still needs to secure a triker before selling anyone of them.

Has to be someone else coming in. That Mayuka sounds like he would be worth a punt.

To be fair, a couple of midfielders can play up front if need be ie mackie, Hoilett, taarabt.

Mackie is actually better up front IMO, not sure about Hoilett.

Emmanuel Mayuka - would need a work permit. I understand he has played a fair bit of International football and has played in Europe for a while now - but work permit issues have blown deals before now.

Striker is actually Mackie's preferred position, and I agree with him!

I would say that he is more of a winger and that Hoilett are a better option up front. Mackie can run up and down the pitch all day if MH asked him to.

I still would love us to go for John Guidetti, Hughes and Rigg must know about him from their time at City. Lukaku went to bloody West Brom , I'd have liked us to have gone for him. Now Sunderland are in for Guidetti, would hate for our rivals for mid table secure these kinds of players..
