Huddlestone is a great luxury player but I'm not sure if that is a priority. On Saturday we definitely lacked some intelligence with the ball and looked extremely naive off the ball so perhaps Hughes wants someone who can comfortably distribute into our more creative players from deep positions.

Dawson is obviously one of the best CBs in the league when fit. Fully fit he'd be head and shoulder above any defender we've got. If he could get back to 2010 form we'd be laughing.

I'd like to see us go in for Caulker personally.

we need proven CB's, not makeshift ones. Although i think Huddlestone flatters to deceive more often than not, i would welcome him as an addition, and as you point out, he could provide flexibility if situations became dire.

It depends what level the other team is at..... Cast off from top clubs can improve what we've got, whereas cast offs from Torquay are not welcome.
