Today we had basically three of the four defenders who performed so well at home at the end of last season. Yes Green made a mistake for the first goal but had little chance with the other four. So what was the problem ?

Today the system was wrong for the players who were on the pitch, that, or they (Tarrabt in particular) did not stick to orders. It seemed to be set up with Diakite sitting and Tarrabt and Park playing slightly higher. However Tarrabt continually came short leaving Cisse isolated meaning he rarely got hold of the ball. Fabio also bombed forward at every opportunity and Tarrabt in particular often lost the ball cheaply leaving him stranded up field and the rest of the back four exposed. Unfortunately Ferdinand and Onhura are not the best readers of the gam and Hill not he quickest. This resulted in their pace and movement exposing us time and time again on th break and the more we chased the game the worse it got. Also struggled to understand why Hughes did not change it earlier but guess he though we could still get something up to the third going in.

Worried about Green but absolutely not point in getting on his back. Thought Diakite, Holliet and in particular Park were the pick. Cisse, Mackie, Fabio, Onhura and Tarrabt poor. Long way to go but Hughes needs to go back to what he knows best and not try to fit a system around players.

Anyway see you all at Norwich it can only get better.
