Plus I'd imagine Hoilett had a tasty signing on fee when he came. Either way we have in no way spent big, every bit of business has been astute, but £1.5m seems a bit off.

I don't know how TF came up with the figures, but they're his figures not mine. Obviously the HH and PK fees are taken into account, but apart from that, it's difficult to know how else.

Nowhere near enough to cover the cost fo Park (£2mill?) and Diakite (£3.5mill) though. We got £200k for Paddy & cant imagine alot more for HH.

Not criticising TF, just opening it up to discussion. Like another poster said, probably to do with getting some deadwood of the wage bill and new sponsorships probably come into play.

Agreed. He's probably talking about the total balance sheet, and thus the money that's had to come from the coffers

Just had another look at the interview and TF says the £1.5m figure is the net transfer spend.

I think we have been very clever with our signings. Today Southampton are looking to sign a Prem Newbie for 10 million. We have gone for the low transfer fees so we can pay higher wages, longer commitment but easier to cover with income as well.
