I think the intention was to get business done early but the crucial CB piece of the jigsaw wasn't sorted, I heard from the local bag lady that this was because Samba's contract ruled him out until January. At which point a decision had to be made re a stop gap v a proper acquisition. I think Nelsen was the stop gap but maybe they've decided that things are just too fragile back there and decided to plunge.

imo it all depends on whether or not they've decided to wait for Samba's availability.

Do you think he will join in January?

One of the problems is because of the Olympics Nelsen has only just joined the team and we really do not know how he is going to fit in.

Agreed, that´s a worry regarding Nielson. Have to say, I still think we will bring in a new and commanding CB.
