On a good day the very top teams can anihilate anyone, even other top teams, so let's not get ahead of ourselves and suggest becasue we are now probably a mid table team there's no chance of us getting spanked.... Arsenal lost 8-2 last season, Man Utd lost 1-6, Chelsea lost 3-5. The Chelsea result, although nobody saw the score coming, is not really a shock, but the Fulham one agaisnt an average team was quite simply an embarrassment.

I sat through 90 minutes of utter painthat day- never saw it coming but we got what we deserved. Never ever want a repeat.

Haven't felt as embarassed and disgusted by a performance for years- so much riding on it, against your biggest rivals and we got that..... I'm getting angry even thinking about it.

This could be applied to both the Fulham & Chelsea shambles.

As things stand defence not that much stronger than at Stamford Bridge to be honest. CB is now vital

The Fulham one was catastrophic imo, a shiteating humiliation. Chelsea are a better side and there were times last year when our defending was woeful.

If anyone is any doubt at all about CB requirement, this thread is a good reminder since the back four is still short on out and out defensive quality and I fear theres an accident always waiting to happen behind them....
