He may be in a totally different leage in your oppinion, but the stats dont lie and JM has better stats than Adel in the PL. With Hoilet ?, Park and AJ signing, I cant see either starting many games anyway.

Players' stats can always be spun to make a point and we all know that they never provide the complete picture of a player's ability.

The only way you could try to use stats to compare Adel vs Jamie is if they both played in the same position, but they don't, so you can't.

You're right Paul, some people find every opportunity to slate one player, and find it very difficult to offer any praise at all, regardless of reality.

a player who left about 4 years later after two crippling career-threatening injuries. whatever the prejudices of certain fans adel is clearly rated v highly by the manager and will have a big role to play next season. not sure anyone next season is guaranteed a start (park and green aside, id reckon) which is one of the great things of having a good squad. he might well be rested for certain games, particularly away, but over the course of a season am sure he will be regarded as one of our big, big players.

by all means reply paul, its a place for debate. i just think deepcut was picking up on how at one point you seemed to take every opportunity to take a swipe at adel, but that's fine.

as i made clear earlier i value mackie big time as an impact sub and said i hoped he wd stay. just dont think that because he is a nice bloke and runs around a lot he is, as one fan was claiming, good enough to be in a premiership team of the season. i wd simply say that if you offered most football managers a choice between mackie or adel im pretty sure that more of them wd choose adel. but if you think mackie is a better player then that's cool with me, all about opinions...
