  • New stadium site rumour

Just had a text from a Rangers mate saying new stadium is gonna be at the Linford Christie Stadium.

Just passing it on. Haven't a clue as to its veracity.

Not sure Vespa, just waiting on his reply.

I realise its green-belt area so not sure how straightforward it would be to develop on, but I guess we'll see...

Looking at google map, it is not that far; perhaps 15 mins walk from LR.

arr yes ive found it on maps now. I thought this was suggested before but was dismissed because match day traffic could cause problems with access to the hospital.

Its on Du Cane Rd, just the other side of the A40 Westway to LR. Right next to Wormwood scrubs prison and Hammersmith Hospital.

They have used the stadium for QPR in the community trust programs.

It's proper run down now !! The only problem I can see is transport links. Parking even worse than the bush. Nearest tube is either east acton which is about 10 mins Latimer road 10 mins. With a bigger stadium couldnt ask for a closer site to our HQ though.

By the time its built it should coincide with the planned HS2 line at Oal Oak common, with links from Euston, Paddington, West London, the Midlands and the north.

They could develop the existing road from Scrubbs lane to give access which would not affect the hospital?
