Exactly, pretty simple and also understandable in my opinion. Think of all the players who have moved and spoken to more than one club before making a decision. I wonder if Stan The Man, Rodney, or countless others who went on to become legends at Rangers, actually spoke to other clubs too ? If they did, we seem to be saying we should never ever have signed them. Our history would certainly look rather different I think. If this became club policy I think our future might not be quite as rosy either ? I'm sure there are hundreds of players out there now, free agents, whatever, who would jump at the chance of moving to us and would not dream of talking with any one else. Look at all the players moving around the lower leagues right now, are we actually saying these are who we should be chasing because the only criteria is they would not talk to any one else. Oh well, it's a strange world for sure. As for Hoilett. I think he's a very good player and would love it if he signed. If however he signs for someone else, which he is fully entitled to do, good luck to him and we move on.Originally posted by James1979 View PostHow do we know that Mackie didn't speak to other clubs before joining us. He's just looking for best offer which everyone does.

But does that just make him a money grabber? Surely if he spoke to us he was interested in joining us, or was he just interested in how much we were gonna pay him? Didn't he go to germany at the start of the summer and talks broke down? Maybe he's gone back to tell them QPR will pay x amount so you need to top that.......Do we want that type here? Or do we want a player who's going to have the same attitude as Mackie.Originally posted by RangerMick View PostExactly, pretty simple and also understandable in my opinion. what do you expect hoillet to do join straight away because there couldnt possibly be a better club than QPR?. Hes got to look at all his options available . These players are not fans , they have to get the best deal for them , whether its money, league, country, im sure they all have different motivations. Lets hope our offer is the most appealing.

But in the real world you'd ask for a bit of time to think over the offer before coming bacl to them, in which time, you go and discuss job b. Once all info is known you make a decision... quite simple really. In football with media spotlight it's more common and public, but if MH really wanted the player, they wouldn't pull out becasue he asked for a bit of time to weigh up his options.Originally posted by paulmason View PostI agree 100%, but if you turn down the £200 a week job, in search for the £300 a week job, don't expect the £200 a week job you snubbed to take you on, when you realise the higher figure ain't there.

tbh if i was JH i would chose the German side because it has champions league football(wouldn't we all) and then Newcastle have Europa League footie so it wouldn't be a surprise, hopefully he comes to the R's every player we've signed has said we have a great future as well as fantastic owners (as we all know!)Originally posted by kron-1664 View Postwhat do you expect hoillet to do join straight away because there couldnt possibly be a better club than QPR?. And what most people seem to be overlooking here is the fundamental reason why players take the risk of letting their contracts run out, because they know they can have their pick of clubs and dictate a large signing on fee as there's no transfer, and also good wages. Why then would Hoilett take that risk (risk being if he got bad injury near end of season with Blackburn he'd be screwed) to then agree to sign with the first club who offered him a deal.....?

I bet the we're a few stupid Portsmouth fans who thought like that a few years ago, pay over the top or what they want, but I wonder if they would agree with you now.Originally posted by Del View PostBut in the real world you'd ask for a bit of time to think over the offer before coming bacl to them, in which time, you go and discuss job b. Fully agree with you. Unfortunately money often seems to be the only driving force these days. Like how much do they really need. More I guess ! But yes, agree with you 100%. If the club feel a player is holding them to ransom, and that's different from just getting a good deal, they would know, so stay well clear of and move on.Originally posted by QPRDave View PostWell i hope the board stick to their guns and that offer is our only offer, MH has enough experience to know how much he's worth.

Thats what i mean what motivation has he got....money? If so say Torquay had a muti billionaire take them over would Junior go and talk to them? What i'm trying to say is surely he must have a club as his preference? You don't just talk to all, and why would he talk to others if he's already signed for us?Originally posted by kron-1664 View Postwhat do you expect hoillet to do join straight away because there couldnt possibly be a better club than QPR?. Money will obvioulsy be a factor, but lets not forget the PRem itself is a massive pull for players, especially one who's tasted it and i doubt would want to leave. If it's therefore a shootout between us and the germans, we still have just as much chance as them.Originally posted by QPRDave View PostThats what i mean what motivation has he got....money?
