Selling QPR to Park signing was very much done in partnership between TF and MH.
Quite a few contradictions there me thinks ............. to be honest your post sounds to me like 'party' propaganda.

Park was signed for footballing reasons ? ? ? then you say TF 'suggested' signing him SO TF is deciding the team then !
    I'd love to see the footage of that meeting ;
TF (I control the purse strings ) I think we should sign an Asian superstar to boost our 'brand' abroad .......
MH (employee) OK boss whatever you say ......... by the way boss can ya get off my toes

I'm very happy with the way things look to be going but what happens if something goes wrong and we end up like Glasgow Rangers or Portsmouth , or maybe playing to a half empty (new) stadium like Wigan or Blackburn
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

Ok, so my post sounds like 'party propoganda' and your post sounds like the voice of a cynic

Just as much as I can't back my post up with evidence because I wasn't a witness to the actual meeting, nor can you back up any of your 'assumptions' because you weren't there either.

All I have based my views on are a combination of what I filter from the media, TF's actual interviews and my gut instinct of the man.

Yes absolutely Park was signed for footballing reasons, but you only selectively quoted me. I said 'primarily' for footballing reasons didn't I. Then I said his Asian profile is a secondary bonus. Yes TF 'suggested' the player to Hughes in the first instance. Does that mean Hughes HAS to agree to the suggestion? No, of course it doesn't. That is a conclusion that you have jumped to with zero evidence, as nowhere has that been reported or even hinted anywhere - unlike what I have said. Therefore, no, of course TF is not "deciding the team".

"TF (I control the purse strings ) I think we should sign an Asian superstar to boost our 'brand' abroad .......
MH (employee) OK boss whatever you say ......... by the way boss can ya get off my toes"

Again, you have no evidence that anything even remotely like that has been said - so nothing but hyperbole and speculation.

The issue is whether Hughes will feel any kind of pressure to start Park for non footballing reasons, I seriously doubt this will ever be the case because we have seen that Fernandes has total faith in MH as a manager and is clever enough to know to stay out. We got a big boost with signing Park and it looks like we might be getting a younger Korean so our exploits in that country wont be totally lost if Park isnt starting every game.

This looks to have gone off topic. Can I suggest we remind ourselves of the thread title?

What korean fans think about this is quite similar.
simply put, the first reason is to show qpr fans they are being more serious to raise the bar.
The second would be tha Park is experienced decent player as well as good marketting tool in Asia.
The third reason is to help other players to sign us by telling them we have good vision and future byr telling them who we have and who we are targeting in the process of signing.

Ki is a great example. He definitely admires Park and he would like to take him as both his mentor and tutor.

and second would it be fair to say if QPR signed Ki from Celtic QPR would very big in Korea because Park is already at QPR?

Stanley and Bonheurjh - your take on this makes total sense and, as Stanley says, when TF talks and acts, it is quite apparent that it is as a Chairman with the best interests of QPR at the forefront of what he does - TF idea "I think signing an Asian superstar would be great for the team and for the Club". MH - I agree, the best one is Ji because he is a legend, a quality footballer, falling down the pecking order at Man U and would have marketability as well, you never know, signing him may open up our options to other South Koreans that would otherwise not look at Rangers, and that would be exciting".
TF "Ok - we'll get Riggy to test the water for a valuation on Ji and see if he's a goer". Riggy "yeah, done that, he's interested, rudolph wants to off load him and so let's give it a go"

Rather than - TF - "I'm the boss, I want a S Korean to sell shirts but he might waste a spot in your squad Sparky" MH - "Ok boss, you're the expert"
