I'm not sure who is backers are, but I have been told they are extremely wealthy and are from Malaysia.

Tony is just the front man of the consortium.

TF is not actually that rich (by Prem club owner standards) so he isn't paying for the stadium.....

Tony Fernandes does not own the club, we know he's the frontman for his two business partners. Worth in the region of £1billion between them.

However since his consortium took control Tony's personal wealth has actually increased by approx £200m, mainly through the growth of Air Asia - the growth rate is phenomenal.

Tony is also investing a lot into the Tune Group (QPR are owned by Tune Group), to grow their hotel brand around the world and has also started a telecom company in Malaysia.

Tony Fernandes and his business colleagues believe investment is the key to growth and they are acting the same with QPR as they would with any other of their businesses - Dare to Dream!!
