i worked on the aviva stadium when they knocked lansdowne rd down. its a 50,000 ground and took roughly 14 months to complete from level ground. depending on the surface their building on(ground will have to be piled etc) it could be completed a bit sooner. in for 14/15 season imo.

Okay based on a few assumptions I would say

Planning consents have have been approved or at least the important ones to get the ball rolling

The design of the new stadium is at a conceptual design phase still so contracts will need to be put out to designers for tender this process could take up to 6 months following this construction tenders will be put up for grabs and actual construction works on a stadium could commence by next summer.

However the club could proceed with awarding a demolition contract following surveys which means works can technically begin by the new year. The actual construction of the stadium could take less time than what many would assume but is getting to the point where we're in a position to construct which in my opinion will take the time. 2015-2016 season does sound realistic.

My prediction is a the club will aim for the 2014-15 season and would move in at whatever point in time the ground is ready during that season

good post. the time frame i mentioned was just construction and taking into account the tenders/legal stuff etc you could be talking 15/16. a huge amount will depend on the site we purchase.the unigate site would be cleared in a shorter space of time than the bbc and scrubbs(???)is a blank canvas. my gut feeling is unigate.

i reckon that a site has been picked and discussions are well advanced. just my opinion. tf does'nt seem the type to go shouting off only to end up with egg on his face. his takeover was kept fairly quiet and his dealings in the transfer market suggest that he keeps his cards close to his chest.

Depends what there is to clear...contaminants and surveys to be done

Things like getting a Section 61 approval to work on sundays could shift the programme...no residents to consider IMO

BBC assuming you mean the donut would be a contractors nightmare...logistically access would be murders, asbestos, residents etc

No I was referring to the old white city stadium site up the road from the doughnut, where the BBC have had buildings for the past few years. That was one of the proposed sites which Bircham referred to on talksport today.
