Tbf that applies to all clubs bringing in free transfers, every club has to pay wages and signing on fees not just us,but I except we are a small club who are lucky now to have very good owners,BUT at the end of the day Hughes would not have taken the job here if he wasn't promised transfer money, the fact he tried to sign the guy who went to Arsenal for €12 million proves that,He will have money to spend and think he will buy 3 players now and get another in on loan,I expect he wants a quality midfielder and defender first and will then try for a striker and a winger,I'm very optimistic he will get some of his targets anyway.

Fair enough, although I think it applies especially to QPR because both under the previous and current owners they seem to have specialised in targeting some fairly big name players but often ones who are for various reasons available on a Bosman or a low transfer fee. Therefore our wage bill and agent bill relative to headline transfer payments is probably a lot, lot higher than most other clubs. This means the board are spending big time, just not in the way immature fans (not you) like to wave their d*cks around and say "weve spent x million on y player", as if the headline figure somehow makes that a better player.Originally posted by Rebel R's View PostTbf that applies to all clubs bringing in free transfers, every club has to pay wages and signing on fees not just us,but I except we are a small club who are lucky now to have very good owners,BUT at the end of the day Hughes would not have taken the job here if he wasn't promised transfer money, the fact he tried to sign the guy who went to Arsenal for €12 million proves that,He will have money to spend and think he will buy 3 players now and get another in on loan,I expect he wants a quality midfielder and defender first and will then try for a striker and a winger,I'm very optimistic he will get some of his targets anyway.
Certainly think you are right we are targeting more players and prob at least one who will be more of a "crowd" signing than some of the more "bread and butter" players we have bought so far. But as Fernandez hinted yesterday, the challenge is persuading this better class of player to join. We may have spoken to a French international striker but he actually signed for Arsenal. Its only worth spending £12m on a player if we can persuade a top player to join us. If our "wish list" of star targets simply use us to get offers from bigger clubs we will be left with signing slightly lesser players and the danger is that this is on inflated fees. Even Man City had to do it in stages. De Jong is unlikely to come to QPR when AC and Inter Milan are after him, etc...

I hope we are after Chris Samba, and if that´s the case I think a Defoe signing will be difficult to defend financially...but oh well, I surely see our defence as our weak link(If we sign Park that is)Originally posted by IASM View PostNot that I'm not excited about the Park addition, but I really hope they're looking to bring a starter for the back 4.QPR
