How funny - was just about to say Micklewhite. You dont hear our fans mention him now from one year to the next and was v much over-shadowed even at the time by all the flair players we had but he was a key part of prob the best rangers team i have watched (was too young to have really seen much of the sexton side), he was a bit to venables what say park is to ferguson.

and of course how cd i disagree with your comment about stainrod? having missed marsh and only seen bowles a couple of times, stainrod had the skill and the arrogant swagger that goes with a rangers number 10 and got me hooked on the club.

David Bardsley never got the full recognition he deserved, thought he was the best right back in the country in his time.
Would agree re- Barker, used to do a great job along side Olly..

Bardsley was the daddy who was never underrated and with him and Wilson as full backs, we were superb.

Your right he was one of the best right backs in the country who was only capped twice but in his time at QPR, he was up against Lee Dixon, Paul Parker and Gary Neville, who were better.

Sorry mate disagree, i think Bards was underrated as a right back, not saying by Rs fans but by the footballing world, as good as Parker and Dixon imo

I remember the whole loft (apart from me) calling for him to be taken off, after a couple of his famous inswinging line balls had gone out.
I think it was against Palace in the Zenith data systems cup.

If you ask an Rs fan the best right back we ever had, DB would come about fourth or fifth, behind Parker etc.
But I think he was the best right back we ever had, thats why I say he underated.

It was a crime that he wasn't capped more for England, as he was more mobile than Dixon, a better aeriel player than Parker and a better positional player than a young Neville (although he did improve immensley in that department)

Ill ask you this, if Dixon or Parker were our regular right backs and Bardsley played right back for Arsenal or Man utd who would have won more England caps? I admit Neville was a step up.

Yes he would have, but nothings changed and Paul Parker played for England while at QPR

                    strangely

strangely enough i think alan wilks was quite under rated he had this knack of always being in the right place but he often missed chances ,but i feel we should have tried to train him a bit instead of getting rid of him

he did after all score five goals in the top division against clubs like arsenal so he must have had something
