The way i see it is, if Rangers are not voted back in then they will demoted back down to the bottom tier of Scottish football and have to start from scratch, which would be the same if they applied to join the english league which they are entiled to do as the precedance is set with Cardiff and Swansea. The only 2 things that i can see that could stop them joining is
1) The pending election because if they vote to be independant then how would that work, as it would set another precednace allowing different clubs from different independant countires playing in other leagues.
2) I think it will only take them 3 to 4 years to get back in Scottish football, however the english league has far more depth I think it will take around 7 years with straight back to back promotions, 7 years out of the main leagues will need seroius long term investment
and with this 7 years is a long time of which i doubt they will do it in straight years as the Championship and 1st division are harder than most who says the level of money will still be around it a big gamble.
Not sure if they will apply as i think it is too cloe to call as none of there investers are mega rich and have the sort of cash it would take to join us.One for all.... and all for one

What is the EPL? We play in the PL. EPL probably the most annoying saying around.Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostI have no doubts that Celtic and Rangers would love to play in the EPL. But, there would be profound consequences if they were allowed into English football.
Firstly, it would jeopardise the four home nations FA. Some FIFA members believe that Britain should have just a single team rather than the four we have now. They may eventually vote to remove the four home nation teams and force Britain to have just one. That was the fear of the FAs of Scotland Wales and NI over the Team GB football team for the Olympics. Who would watch a Britain football team? I wouldn't.
Secondly, why should two English teams make way for two Scottish clubs?
Thirdly, there is an independence referendum in Scotland in 2014 and may become an independent state.
Besides, I think the entry of those two clubs to English football would be very unpopular amongst the English.

Quite simple mate. The English Premier League. Distinguishes it from the Scottish and Welsh versions.Originally posted by loftboy View PostWhat is the EPL? We play in the PL. EPL probably the most annoying saying around.
Unless of course you object to the term 'English'?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

if the scottish league does implode can see pressure to create a GB league with Celtic and Rangers. We already have a Welsh club and if Cardiff wd ever get their act together, we cd have two. just as the creation of the prem league was a break away that effectively relegated a couple of extra clubs, so this cd be a threat to the top flight status of a club like ours. therefore we should home the scots are pragmatic about this and do whatever they need to do to help rangers.

The six Welsh clubs should be removed to Welsh leagues. Wales has an FA that is affiliated to FIFA and UEFA, a national team, a national stadium, and its own Premier League. it should also be pointed out that in 2011, the people of Wales voted for primary lawmaking powers for Sports and Recreation, meaning they want separation in sports-related matters. There is no reason, other than money, why the Welsh clubs can't be removed from English football.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View Postif the scottish league does implode can see pressure to create a GB league with Celtic and Rangers. The same reasons stated above should also apply to Scottish clubs. They shouldn't get anywhere near English football, and if a British league is ever created, expect to see the end of the four nations competing as individual countries and replaced by a team called Great Britain. If this ever happened, Wembley would be empty for Great Britain football matches.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

No, because its not part of the United Kingdom (so called). I'm not saying I want Rangers in, far from it, just saying there cd be pressure to let them in. Just as the Prem League was a breakaway from the old football league, wouldn't be that surprised if within 20 years time there was another footballing revolution and the champions league became a real league, taking the cream from all the major countries. Nothing ever stands still, least of all when such big money is involved. Just my prediction...Originally posted by paulmason View PostStainrod, if the Dutch league went titsup, would you expect pressure on the PL for them to be allowed to play ?
