Yes. From Wikipedia:Originally posted by andythefish View PostDidn't he play under Hughes at Blackburn?
2005-2012 Blackburn 172 appearances and 8 goals.
Nelsen was signed by Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer in January 2005, shortly after the completion of the 2004 MLS season. In the summer of 2005, after just 6 months at the club, Nelsen signed a new three year contract after impressing manager Mark Hughes and helping to turn Blackburn's defence into one of the stingiest in the Premiership. Nelsen was successfully awarded a work permit on appeal after the initial application had been refused due to New Zealand being ranked outside the top 70 in the FIFA World Rankings.
There are more details If anyone interested

Fair enough, but we've got a few ageing squad players already in Derry, Hill, Helgusson etc. At the moment I'm not really sure I understand what benefit Ryan Nelson is going to bring. That said I trust Hughes and there is a long way to go in the transfer window so I guess we should just wait and see who else arrives.Originally posted by sacha View Posti think this is a shrewd bit of buisness loads of experiance and knows hughes from his blackburn days dont expect him 2 be a starter but a good squad player redknapp had him at spurs and he aint a bad judge of player

Because he's alot better than what we have, why does age matter so much? Would you rather a 30+ year old with PL experience that you know will do a steady job or a 25 year old that is $hit but might do well in a bleep test cos he's young?Originally posted by Yousef View PostSeriously why would we need player above 30?
Yes he is.Originally posted by Yousef View PostGreen? so he is not better than Kenny? You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Exactly. If Harry "My Face Needs An Iron" Redknapp and Mark Hughes think he is worth signing then who are we to argue otherwise?Originally posted by Mellowhoop View PostVery experienced player and when called upon will be solid...stop moaningLast edited by MattyRangers; 15-06-2012, 11:04 AM.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
