Dede from Vasco da Gama, he is an incredible defender, fast, 6ft 4 and great on the ball. Plus they are going through financial troubles at the moment so now would be a great time to poach him!!!!

Yea we need a real colossal centre back.

Ideally I'd rather us buy 2

Liam Ridgewell?? Proven centre back, and supports us

Used to rate Rog Johnson but he had a mare last year,as for Ridgewell played all his career in the Midlands and only recently joined WBA so can't see that one ever happening.

Somebody like Shawcross would be blinding IMO; old school no nonsense centre half that takes no $hit. Not necessarily him though as I think, if he was to be allowe to go, it'd be to a bigger and better club than us.

Yea he never had the best of seasons, but was in a p I s s poor team.
I've rated him for a long time and think he could flourish with us.
He wants out aswell so reckon we could get him if we stuck a bid in.

I hear Huth and Kevin Davies are running a few of the doors in Manchester.

Ferdinand was immense towards the end of last season but he needs a tough, ugly centre back to play alongside him, which is why he looked a different player alongside Clint. He is a Glen Roeder in need of a Stevie Wicks. Just because its not being reported am v confident that Hughes/ Rigg realise centre half will be the most crucial signing we make this close season because I agree with you - we need a beast there. Onouha got bullied when he played there.

Exactly as I see it. If Anton has to be the "leader" at the back he doesnt look too cinfident, but when he has a proper old school centre half next to him to do the ugly stuff, I think Anton is more than capable of holding his own.

Agree Matty. Though cd be a struggle to find anyone uglier than Anton...
