  • Robert Green 'considering QPR' after Gold tells Twitter he's quit West Ham

West Ham confirm Rob Green will be leaving on a free transfer. Surely he wouldnt do this unless he already has his future sorted! think there will be a demand for him on a free if the speculated £50k a week is correct means a spend of £5m on a 2 year contract. Thoughts?

Would be a very good signing. Those wanting Given/Foster/whoever they will cost us £5 million + a 50k wage, although the signing on fee + agent fees will be higher with Green there is no transfer fee. Good keeper.

Good keeper and would be a great signing - but a move from West Ham to QPR seems an odd call.
Is he just looking for a move for financial reasons ? Or maybe just hoping a big club will come in for him ?
Personally would prefer Ben Foster but either would be good.

No money problems with Greeny, know him personally, went to school with my daughter, He's a good lad got his feet on the ground and is very humble for a pro footballer.

Heard that Green is off to Malaga. Rather have Foster tbh.

The England international's contract expires this month and his future has been the subject of much speculation.

Gold has now used Twitter to shed some light on the situation, after fans questioned him about whether Green was still a Hammers player.

50k a week is some big dough! Now I know I probably know just about as much about running a football club as I do about what its like to be able to see your penis; but for a keeper I would like to see a lower standard wage (ie 25k a week) with a big insentive for a clan sheet (ie 20k bonus). I'm sure it really is that simple too
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
