Crewe are wanting crazy money for Powell though, like £10m and the Gunners linked are with him. Williams is good talent, seems like 'boro played him in a lot of positions. Very versatile player, would be a great asset to the squad. We've been linked to Butland, would be bit of a coup if we got him.

Caulker is good, but I can see him getting in Spuds team next season. Matt Phillips is a decent shout, had a good season at Blackpool by all accounts.

Even if Powell was 5m, I'd be against risking it. Maybe in a couple of seasons we'd be in a position to gamble. Just not right now.

yea spot on there mate, nice to have a chat about some younger players for a change.

most of the players being suggested on here have been embarrassing. just over 30's , quick fixes with no look to the future.

Good player, but lost his way big time.

When Liverpool bought him couple of seasons ago they were calling him the next Alan Hansen. Good in the air and comfortable on the ball, he's just the kind of player we need. He's played in the Champions League and at International level for Scotland too.
