Am with you on that. I don't want to get carried away but have been quietly drooling about a midfield three of Diakite, Faurlin and probably a re-focused Barton in the middle with maybe one dropping out if we go 4-4-2. Diakite is a beast. Tiny bit more compusure in the final third and he cd become a top, top player.Comment

Fantastic player and prospect.
One of the main concerns I have if we get relegated is that these 2 quality players will slip through our fingers. I'm sure if that happened they'd end up at good clubs and in diakite he could develop into a real top class prem CM but doing the biz for someone else not us....
If we stay up I really think this team could surprise a lot of people next season.... Here's hoping!!Comment

Credit to mark Hughes he has a history of finding these type of players and would love to see who else he would find for us if we stay up!samba at Blackburn, Kompany at city, dembele at fulham and now samba for us!Comment

Totally agree Maidstone Faurlin & Samba could be an awesome pairing. I mentioned a few weeks ago it could potentially be our best central midfield pairing since Masson & FrancisI love his quick feet and the ability he has to just up his speed and Go past 2 3 players! Very much in the mold of viera and more recently yaya toure!
Hes still a bit reckless in the tackle by if we stay up and get faurlin back in the team next year I can't wait to see them as a partnership!

His movement with the ball reminds me a lot Diaby, difference being Diakite doesn't get injured every 5 steps.
He still needs to work on his timing with challenges but that will come a bit more with experience. Also a couple of times he's been caught out with silly passes. Massively impressed with how well he gets around the pitch.
If we beat the drops getitng him on a long contract with be a massive priority.Comment
