    Ramage

Just watched his interview on the offy. He's had a decidedly mixed beginning to his career here and maybe his I'm-an-honest-Geordie routine has suckered me in.....

But he comes across as a smashing lad with a great attitude. And he says without a hint of irony that the fans have been great! Considering all the abuse he's got at HQ (not even counting on here) that deserves some credit.

I for one will be cheering him on this season - even though am sure he will leave me with my head in hands on certain occasions.

Best of luck Peter. U rrrrrrrrrs.

Ramage does always come over at the end and cheer the travelling fans, far more than most.

I like the ram, does his job which is defending.

Doesnt attack as much as I would like, but hes a defender, and he is very good at defending.

        Good full back IMO.

Maybe not!....But one thing's for sure, if JM plays him in the starting lineup, then he's the best option at that given time that we've got in his position. Every single player out there wants to play better than they do but the 11 players JM starts with are presumably the best we have to our disposal given the formation etc. It's not Ramage's fault that he's not Ashley Cole or better. If he was that good, he wouldn't be playing for us. I want better things too but it's certainly not a player's fault if QPR don't buy better. For the record, I think he'll do a good job if he gets a bit of support.

I said this last season, and I will say it again.

He did a reasonable job at RB even though he is really a centre half. His distribution is poor, but I recall Brevett couldn't pass the ball more than 5 yards, but he could defend.

Ramage has been a very good professional for QPR and did not whinge when he lost his place in 2009. He should be replaced only by Connolly or if QPR can sign a good RB with good attacking ability.

I would prefer Connolly at CB, but it seems likely that he will play at LB until a new LB is signed.

hes not good enough if we want promotion im afraid. his passing is conference if lower standard. the amount of time he found the stand last season instead of the wing was beyond me, like theres a magnet to the ball.

It bugs me when fans judge a player overall just because his passing isn't great. Ramage is a defender and gets paid to do that. He does this very well IMO and doesn't make too many mistakes. Times most tackles well(yeah...bring up the penalty incident :amazing and is solid in the air. He's too big to be a full back, but he does not disgrace himself there. In fact, It's the fans who disgrced themselves by jumping on his back at every chance yet not giving him credit when he makes a great tackle or beats the striker in the air to clear.

Big fan of his since day 1. Wrote many articles on the old board about the quality of his defending. Remember writing an article about how he wasn't to blame for any of the first 10 goals we conceded even though he wasn't getting stick for them. I know he doesn't offer much going forward and if he learnt to make short passes to the CMs he would get a lot less grief from some of the fans.

It's going to be a very good season for him! Nominee for POTY.
