Good news, and all sounds like it'd be true.

For all the doubters of this - everything points to it being correct.
He's from Hatfield, where from what mate's have said he's well known in the area and therefore not too far away from work with us, where as moving to Wolves he'd have to move away from there.
I'd imagine he's on a very good wage with us - as it seemed many signed in that period are so.
Wolves are the team that everyone has tipped to be the next Derby so one season there, does it make sense to move from a team that in a couple of years is promising to be stable in the Premiership (say what you want about that though!)
Also from our point of view - we have a quality defender here, who, if we were to go up we would have to be spending that money or even more to be getting a player of his quality back in the side.

He's said this before when we sang "we've got matt Connolly, you #### your family" he didn't like that chant at all, a few supporters sang it after a match last season when he walked past the spring boc and he said after that he doesn't want that song to stick with him!

Been there, done that, got the Ledesma t-shirt!

I have only seen him once on TV last last season against Ipswich in which we lost 1-3, but from your comments he looks promising

I'm sorry to shoot this down, yes he's happy but no he doesn't want to keep playing L/B he wants his chance at his favored position in the middle. And thats always been the case even under Dowie when he stated he'd wait for a chance to play in the middle and wasn't picked for a few games.

              Connolly, Connolly, came from Arsenal
Connolly, Connolly, better than Puyol (or Fitz Hall!!!)
Rangers through and through (till he dies)
So Wolves can kiss our R's

Connolly is a massive player for us this season! He is quality and along with gorkks prob out best defender! Hes a managers dream due to the fact he can play any position along the back four and look like he's been there all his life.

Up there with one of our best signings in recent times imo.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Wolves did bid for him but the offer didn't reach 7 figures, let alone £5m

Seeing as the general consensus is that Matt Connolly can walk on water wearing a QPR shirt why not try

W12 that chant is quite a mouthful.
Do you think your have room, what with all that prawn sandwich inside?
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                          Mandatory reality check.

                          Thanks Nodge!

Yep that does sound more realistic. Personally if we had been offered £5m. We should have snapped their hands off. We could have used that to try and get a decent striker.

However the amount quoted doesn't sound right

yeh, the same way we used the money from the sale of our top goalscorer to buy an even better replacement goalscorer... oh no wait, that didnt happen did it?
