    The Negative Mindset of Supporters

Cannot believe it to be honest.

Everything, I have seen pre-season has been positive and we've done really well. Me Thinks, fans are still thinking about last season, spoke to a couple of mates on Saturday, straight away they said " Borrowdale is rubbish" and "Balanta won't be any good". Surely, thats based too much on media and what fans saw last season. Have to say, even though it was a friendly soon changed their tunes after the game.

Any chance we can be a bit more positive??

i agree - being negative is not going to help anyone. I think people are just dissapointed that a striker has not been signed - but i think most would have to agree that our team is nearly spot on now. Im sure if we are struggling to score goals, JM will put it right before the deadline is over

        I am positive!
However we do need a new striker and I know you like the rest of us realise this probably won't happen, so I think you are settling for what we have but we do lack a quality striker. I rate Vine but he likes to play fairly deep.
Borrowdale I haven't seen so I am willing to give him a go.
I also realise that he doesn't need to be great to be an improvement on Delaney who we did well to get rid of for the money we did.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

if a proven striker is signed then i wont be negative. Everyone else apart from the club can see and has done for ages that we need a striker. saturday proved that for me. so frustrating that we are 1 player worth £2mil or so or even less away from promotion in my eyes.

I think the problem or at least with messageboards is fans tend to drift towards those ones with similar opinions and outlooks as themselves hence some are looked at as very negative despite it being possibly the opposite of the truth and some very optomistic for the future but then gaining the reputation as Puppet Palace,Fantasy Island or other such infantile insults.

I still maintain though that the majority of moaners and whingers who look as if they wish to see the club fail did so when we were collecting cash in buckets to buy Cureton and are the same now we are owned by Billionaires which simply proves they love to moan full stop.

The inter board wars seem to have died down at long last apart from the odd ######## who wants to prolong it so lets all hope for a much more united fanbase this season.

Pete...you're now starting to not reply to peoples points and instead starting topic after topic stating that the squad we have is strong enough. You may be saying it in different words, but they all boil down to the same thing.

Borrowdale is someone I don't know about, hence I can't say too much on him. Just because he played well against league one outfits and a few semi-pro teams does not mean he'll make it. Deserves a chance, but we should still be looking to strengthen that position.

Balanta is a lad I have huge confidence in and feel he'll be more than a bit-part player this season. Still, It's remains to be seen if he will turn into an out and out goal scorer. Personally I feel It's not an impossible task for him, however feel this season may just be one or two too soon for this expectation.

You keep missing the main point and also for some insane reason denying it...WE NEED A GOAL SCORER.

It's so obvious it hurts. We have a magnificent defence and a midfield that boasts of equal quality, yet nothing up top to make us real worthy challengers. If you think our midfield and defence is enough to get us up...I'm afraid we're going to have some strange and heated conversations in the taxi from Chelsea to The Bush over the coming season mate.

Yeah, you need these areas to be strong, but the strike force is possibly the most important area on the pitch.

And if you think that's being negative...you're wrong mate. It's just being honest and realistic.

Pre Season is pretty meaningless, we've had no real test of championship quality ( I have no idea what quality the tour teams were) So how can anyone judge anyway.

Benny - Borrowdale is not our solution to a left back.
