    Whatever, Mackie isn't the answer.
What about HH he is our top scorer after all, and fit again.

This is absolute rubbish. He has started one game up front this season against Fulham and was woeful. Barely in the game and looked lost. Tarbs, Barton and Zamora all had pops at him during the game and he just held his hands up as if it was nothing to do with him.

He did not know where to be/was stood still and always wanted the ball to feet with his back to goal. Which he then lost with a poor touch hence the pops from teamates after passing to him. When he comes on in games be it up front/on the wing his desire and energy gets rewards. These attributes are matched by defenders at the start of games so he is not effective.

He is an impact sub and a good one at that. But never a starter anywhere on the pitch.

For me it has to be Barton and Diakite in the middle from now on in. Barton had a shocker last match, yes, but he will want to redeem that more than anyone, and previously he was nowhere near as bad as some fans would like everyone to believe. He generally spreads the play well more often than not, but inexplicably fail with some stupidly easy 10 yard passes.

We need to stop changing players every 5 minutes if we want to get a unity and the team to gel in any way shape or form.
100% agree.. but at home he has less ground to cover and has done it well recently. away from home he is overrun. thats why away from home we sacrifice one striker for a CM and overcrowd the middle.

i want to give diakite a chance.. but if we lose another red card between now n end of the season then i think it will be him. - it only takes one tackle from this guy. id rather he was told by mh to stay on his feet for the entire 90 and that if he went for a tackle he gets fined a weeks wages for every tackle. at least then we have a ball player in the middle of the park with some actual skill.

Good post. The 'Mackie is great up front' line is a bit like 'SWP is class when he plays right wing' myth from earlier in the season.

I hope DJ is fit. He's the obvious partner for Bobby Z

                bet the team is

                kenny
                young onouha ferdinand taiwo
                SWP Diakate Derry Barton Tarbs
                Zamora

pack the midfield and double up on walcott

                tarbs to try and link

Still will concede 3 IMHO tho :(

I think we're giving Walcott too much credit. Yes on certain days he can be almost unplayable, but on many others you barely notice he's playing. IT will depend which one turns up!

Also, for that reason i'm sure SWP will play wide on the left in front of Taiwo as he will track back and help and both have pace. Question then will be whether he playe Adel RM and has two strikers, or if he plays him off BZ and plays Mackie wide right (please no!!)

Walcott ain't even that good, he can't finish well, he can't cross well all the time, and has a sh*t touch. All he has is pace, which is why Taiwo should play. If Taiwo can defend well against Robben, then he sure as hell can defend against Walcott

What ever anyone says....he's still the one getting the goals.. luckily or not. Don't get how people think he's sh*t when he gives it his all (and yes that is enough cos it pays off). The only reason he 'runs into walls' is cos noone else is willing to have a go at the opposition.

does nothing when plays on right wing. Good impact sub up front to inject a bit of energy with 20 mins to go tho

I don't think he's just an impact sub, I think he'd do great starting up front alongside BZ. He got most of his goals last year in this position, and most goals this year have come from him being around that striking position at the time of the goals
