As for Sousa not picking Borrowdale, well he picked German ahead of Balanta so I wouldn't read too much into it.

But he obviously hasn't done too much to impress the powers that be! I haven't been pre season so I'm not saying he's played badly but if the manager is clearly looking for a replacement he can't have been that brilliant!

Many will #### off borrowdale but he has done well, and Connolly can play left back too. I reckon we will get another left back in from a premiership club anyway.

I thought Borrowdale looked quite tidy yesterday at centre back..did play one pass out to touch but other than that didnt look out of place.

i dont think vignal was crossing the ball to no one. He put in some decent balls, but nobody is ever in the box to attack them. Thats why we need a striker who stays in the box and attacks the ball. Vignal for me would be a great signing. What i saw of borrowdale was that he was slow, and unaware of what to do with the ball. Dont want to be too harsh on him from a couple of pre season games, but i wasnt impressed, and would take vignal over him any day

even if borrowdale is impressing (i havent seen him so i cant pass judgement) we still need a LB - to have 1 LB for a season is not right - where is his competition going to come from.

Connolly should be CB and only cover LB when we have injuries.

Imo we should have 2 players for every position - 1) for competition 2) for injuries.
