imo you can do what you want - it's only celebrating.

His celebration in front of us was like a kick in the teeth.

You and me both mate. IMO, if fans stand there giving it to a player all game long calling him this and that, and the player scores, why shouldnt he come and give it abit? If youre guna give stick, be prepared to take it.

Cant stand it when people give it out but are the first to whinge when they get abit back.

Always remember Simon Barker scoring for against us, think it was for Port Vale, in front of the loft. Not only did he not celebrate he seemed to raise his hand as an apology to us and then pushed his team mates away when they tried too jump him in celebration. If I'm not mistaken think Ian Baraclough never celebrated when he scored against us - at lest I think it was him(?).
These two men were a rare breed as they always came across as gentlemen on & off the pitch.

I think, in general, most players wont celebrate against their old clubs unless theyre given stick. A majority of players, if given a half decent reception by their ex clubs fans, I dont think would celebrate if they scored.

If they want to. Don't care either way. There's no general rule as it depends on history, how you they were treated, if the fans liked them or gave them sh1t3 etc.

A lot depends on how they were treated by clubs and fans.

For instance I wouldn't expect Gallen or Furlong to celebrate scoring against QPR, but would not be suprised if say Hateley or Sheron had.

Last season Smith did not really cebebrate his goals against Watford out of respect.

However, I was surprised by Chopra's reaction. But then agisn I don't know how things ended up at Cardiff. Did Cardiff fans boo him or send him hate mail when he left?

I don't remember seeing that, but for me, Simon Barker was a great example of how former players should conduct themselves. He was a good player to have and a good role model for fans.

Baraclough was not at QPR very long, but to refuse to celebrate such a goal (long disctance curler I think), shows what respect he had for the club and fans, unlike Chopra.
