I have never wrote a thread on Barton before im just starting to get fed up with his performance as a captain . i even got his name on my shirt because i thought the guy would be a good addition to the club.

And for good reason, in most games this season he's been completely average.

Who can honestly say that he has performed as well as we thought he would and has made the impact he did for Newcastle?

Don't get me wrong, he has played well for us at times, but not nearly as often as he should have.

Laughing at your spelling buddy.Ok Mackie might not of been the best choice as you are right with cisse coming back soon he probably wont get a place week in and week out but Someone said Anton i think that would be a good idea he plays every week and looks like he has the same sort of attitude as Mackie and it rubs off on others .

TBH the only other 2 id have as captains or are captain material arent in the starting line up, hill or derry would be great captains if only theyre were good enough to be regulars at this level.

Fair comment but what i am saying is we are losing every week anyways we need a change Adel had his captaincy taken off him he carried on and did not moan about it he just got on with it . why should we accept the lack leadership skills that our current captain has just because he might chuck his dummy out the pram.

Id say adel having the arm band was more of a gesture than anything else. My guess is Derry was the captain in reality.

I dont think we are losing games due to poor captaincy we are losing for stupid reasons, like red cards and simply turning up with our heads up our arses (like on saturday). We cant afford anymore red cards or to turn up like we did in the first half on saturday if we want to stay up.

It's true, we can't change our captain now and he isn't the sole reason we are loosing games.

I don't think Anton strikes me as a leader, in fact I don't think any of them do. Prime example was on Saturday. Our heads dropped after the first goal and no one said a word to each other for a good few minutes afterwards, then we concede a second and again nothing was said between players.

We need players who will motivate and get players heads up after a set back. The problem is the only ones who can do this aren't very good players at this level.
