And how many of those 18 was he played in HIS position? Hardly any. And why, to accommodate Mackie who's done nothing... If he must play put him on the left, he can't be worse and then let SWP play on the right.

SWP is one of those players that doesn't trust his weak foot enough hence always cuts inside and the impetus of any attack is lost. Yes you could say pros should be ok with both feet, but we know many aren't. Would Bale or Giggs be as effective on the right wing??? No of course not as they would never beat their man and want to cross with their right foot, same as SWP on the other side.

If he's played on the right he'll go into auto pilot and be direct, something we crave. People who haven't played will not realise that not only does he prefer his right foot to shoot, cross etc, but it will also be most natural for him dropping a shoulder and beating his man or doing a trick on his natural side also, ie the right. He's nutured such technique and balance all his life favouring that side so its no surprise that he's far less effective on the left.

Anyway, he's had decent games that people are ignoring. Against Arsenal recently he was our best player and had one lapse, other games around that time he was good also, and against Newcastle last week. To say he's been useless is not right. Plus there's been very little good movement up front for him to work with.

FFS he's a right winger. He didn't get 36 England caps for being useless. When played in position and with decent players around him he's quality.

First of all, saw him in the flesh for the first time on sat getting off the coach, and I usually don't bother with that sort of thing, but I happened to be walking past, and nothing quite prepares you for how tiny he really is! In a junior football team of 9 or 10 year olds he wouldn't stand out, he really looks like a primary schoolboy.

But, back on topic, not sure if he's just a golddigger, or if he has totally lost his confidence. With any pro, constant coaching of control, shooting, and passing etc improves you and keeps you sharp, so I wonder if he doesn't bother in traning anymore, coz he just looks like he doesn't practise his skills.

quite right. 36 games for england should mean something. For goodness sake let's at least see him in a run playing on the right hand side.

For me, he is still a good outlet for us even if he is playing sh@t. The main times yesterday i got excited was when he got on the ball. Even if as of yet, he's produced b@gger all.

To play Devils Advocate, suggesting "Mackie's done nothing", is harsh. Set up a few goals. But scored 2 this season (only HH has scored more ?), which is 2 more than SWP.

To be fair, Wright-Philips over Jamie all day long for me.
I love Mackie's enthusiasm and never say die attitude, BUT chasing lost causes, does not a Premiership player make. But let's not forget his contribution until now, sad that to stay in the Premiership, we HAVE to bring in better. IMO.

Went on the right against Sunderland & roasted the LB 4 times in 15 mins until he was switched.

Went RW yesterday & beat Cole the best LB in world football twice.

                Not rocket science surely?

Only there to accommodate Mackie. Soon as we have Traore back I can see him being RW & Traore LW & Mackie benched. Personal hunch.

He created a good chance down the right in the second half, getting a shot on target which is more than can be said of anyone barring Luke Young.

Bang on, someone finally speaking sense. His first run of games for us, he was class because he was played on the RIGHT

Now for whatever reason we prefer to accommodate Jamie Spackie, rather then an England International who has played for Chelsea and Man City, surely he's done something right to constantly play at the level he has.

Like you said, you wouldn't see Spurs playing Bale on the right as he would not be as effective. So why do we do it....
