    Magilton's Men

Magilton was in charge of Ipswich between 2006/07-2008/09 but how did his teams do in terms of goals scored, conceded, win percentages etc.? Did he have a 20 a season striker? How did he do in comparison with QPR?

Note I have included the final two matches of last season although Magilton was no longer Ipswich manager but it helps for overall comparison.

Ipswich Town: Failure to score: 39 out of 138 matches (28%)
QPR: Failure to score: 45 out of 138 matches (33%)

Ipswich Town: Goals scored: 191 in 138 matches (1.38 goals per game)
QPR: Goals scored: 156 in 138 matches (1.13 goals per game)

Ipswich Town: Goals conceded: 168 in 138 matches (1.21 goals per game)
QPR: Goals conceded: 178 in 138 matches (1.28 goals per game)

Ipswich Town: Average goal difference: + 8
QPR: Average goal difference: - 7

Ipswich Town: Points accumulated: 197 out of 414 points (47.5%)
QPR: Points accumulated: 172 out of 414 points (41.5%)

Ipswich Town: Average points per season: 65
QPR: Average points per season: 57

Ipswich Town: Highest Scorer 06/07: Alan Lee - 16 goals
Ipswich Town: Highest Scorer 07/08: Jonathan Walters - 13 goals
Ipswich Town: Highest Scorer 08/09: Jonathan Stead - 12 goals
QPR: Highest Scorer 06/07: Dexter Blackstock - 13 goals
QPR: Highest Scorer 07/08: Akos Buzsaky - 10 goals
QPR: Highest Scorer 08/09: Dexter Blackstock - 11 goals

Ipswich Town: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 06/07: 3
Ipswich Town: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 07/08: 5
Ipswich Town: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 08/09: 6
QPR: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 06/07: 4
QPR: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 07/08: 7
QPR: Number of players with 5 or more league goals 08/09: 2

Ipswich Town: Number of different league goalscorers 06/07: 20
Ipswich Town: Number of different league goalscorers 07/08: 17
Ipswich Town: Number of different league goalscorers 08/09: 13
QPR: Number of different league goalscorers 06/07: 14
QPR: Number of different league goalscorers 07/08: 16
QPR: Number of different league goalscorers 08/09: 20

Many (including myself) will say that a three year comparison is probably unfair as our team has dramatically changed from that of 2006. But what this does show is that in this time Ipswich have scored more than they concede, they've never had a 20 goal a season striker to do so and they spread the number of goals around the pitch.

Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

Where do you find the time Sirpie?
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles
