Not sure what I would do here if I were in charge of Blackburn and this report was true. Selling is obviously the sensible thing but it would be an absolute hammer blow on every level bar financial (and even then not if it leads to relegation).
They've won a few points without him recently so maybe the thought will be that they can still compete.

I think there is certainly versatility with these players. At the end of the day we will pick up injuries and suspensions and if we can replace quality with quality, then great.
I actually think Anton may make a good defensive midfielder... or just stick Taiwo up front... with his pace and shot he'll score more than Bothroyd, FACT.

Nightmare situation for them, bit like us with Sir Les and Trevor etc all those years ago now. Do you keep players who don't want to be there or let them go and fall like a stone? (sorry, correction in case Kean is reading, "invest" the proceeds wisely in such talents as Ned Zellic, Mark Hatley and that towering talent from West Ham...)

I don't see where you're coming from at all. Onouha and Taqiwo as full backs, Samba and Anton as CB's. Onouha to cover at CB for injuries with Young to cover Onouha at RB. Traore can drop back from left wing to cover Taiwo and vice versa.Originally posted by MYU View PostWe only need one out of Onoura or Samba.
It's called building a squad, and that would sort our defence right out.Your mum would love me...

Obviously it's hard to think long term with us in the relegation mix but I tend to think for a club to grow it has to be ready to grasp opportunities the moment they happen and be ruthless about it. Come summer someone else might come in for Samba and another defender of this quality might not be so easy to source.
If the boss thinks Samba and/or Onuoha are an upgrade on Ferdinand and/or Young then let's not dawdle for the sake of sentiment.

A back line of:
Kenny
Onuouha Anton Samba Taiwo
Is, IMO, quite easily a top half defence. Dont get me wrong Im not going down the road of "we should be a top half side" as we far far from that; but on paper, that is a top top defence. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
