  • Fa cup - joint statement

Tony Fernandes, the Chairman of Queens Park Rangers, and Bruce Buck, the Chairman of Chelsea Football Club, have issued a joint statement ahead of this weekend's FA Cup fourth round tie at Loftus Road.
'We have discussed the issues surrounding this weekend's FA Cup fourth round tie at Loftus Road and we are both in total agreement that abuse and discrimination has no place in football or society.
Both Clubs enjoy fantastic support. However, we would remind fans that while we want to hear their passion, it's a fact that hatred and abuse is not what being a fan of QPR or Chelsea is about.

The Clubs will work together with the police to ensure that anyone using discriminatory or inflammatory language is identified and that the strongest possible action is taken against them.
We would urge fans witnessing any form of abuse to report it to a matchday steward or text confidentially on 07557435421.
Let's make Saturday's match a celebration of football.
A local derby is always a special occasion and this weekend's FA Cup tie is a unique opportunity to show the world that hatred has no place in our game, our Clubs, or our communities.'

Not exactly confidential if they've got your number or your mate sees you with your phone out is it...might as well just walk up to the nearest steward and point the lads out.

Sensible move by both clubs. We still need to make it hostile as hell for Chelsea as its our best chance of winning but it has to be within the bounds. Besides, last time the hostility took Chelsea completely by surprise, this time they will be prepared for it. We will have to win this one on the pitch, not the terraces.

that really is the stength of it, isn't it.

A lot of Rrrs heard what that sucmbag said.... Chelski shouldn't play him rather than issue pathetic joint statements!

.... Also, how about a mass text in..... regarding all of their supporters, and see if we can get the lot thrown out!

Don't the club realise that the hostile atmosphere was instumental in the Chelsea players losing their nerve last time, resulting in the three points?
Plays into Chelsea's hand if we sit there all singing "If you're happy and you know it hug a Blue".
If they think I'm going to hug a Chelsea Hooray Henry or hooligan, they've got another thought coming.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
