Surely an appeal would be approved under the basis he's a talent.... read the below comment about another player:

However, there is a chance that he can get a permit on appeal, if the authorities feel he is an exceptional talent who deserves entry

If the player who was voted best at an U20 World cup isn't classed as an exceptional talent who will be.....

The question will be how quickly can they push through an appeal, if indeed this story is true.

the mind boggles..ive worked in places where 80% of the employees were brazilian and most of them here on student visas, when i used to ask some of them thatd been here for 4 years "studying" english if theyd chopped and tomatos and lettuce yet theyd look at me like 1 oclock half struck. so how does henrique not qualify??? surely his tax contribution is going to be considerably higher than marcello et al preparing salads in a restaurant kitchen.

Henrique’s proposed move to QPR is off after the Brazilian striker was denied a work permit.

Rangers agreed a deal with Sao Paulo to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old on an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

Hope Zamora isn't the only plan B. Hardly prolific.

Not sure I trust this article, I think it's pretty much nailed on we will appeal!

As pointed out earlier on this thread and a few times in the last week, this guy was NEVER going have his work permit application accepted first time. This is due to him not meeting the criteria in terms of playing 70% of Brazil's recent internationals.

The only way he was likely to get a work permit is on appeal on the grounds that he is likely to be an important international player in the near future.

The club must have known this and I'm willing to bet work on the appeal was underway long before his initial application was rejected.
