They still have a lot of quality in their squad....I'll judge them, us and anyone else once the season kicks off.

The likes of Danny Guthrie,Nicky Butt,Kevin Nolan,Damien Duff would walk into every team in the CCC,if they keep them and the likes of Steven Taylor,Steve Harper id expect Newcastle to be there abouts.

I think Pete is overly optimistic with that list, I am still not convinced about the squad and management, but who knows they may suprise us.

they've got a fair few players who would get into a fair few premiership sides too, but they still went down. losing 6-1 in a friendly to leyton may only be a friendly but it tells you about as much as you need to know about the state of newcastle united football club. i don't expect to see them go down but i would be very suprised o see them even challenge for the play-offs.

i expect us to be top half, certainly. play-offs, a possibility if we keep everyone fit. automatic, not in a million years.

I'm still convinced the squad we have is almost there, i'm hoping players like Buz & Faurlin will be our successes this season i'm hoping we sign a quality forward, a back up keeper & a left back, then i see no reason why we can't finish top of this league

i also think WBA, Swansea & Sheff Utd will be the pace setters & maybe Forest will be up there or there abouts

of the teams that came down i honestly can't see Newcastle or Boro doing anything special

alot ot hoping in here,but alas cant see all that coming true for us.I think a 8th or 9 th finish is more realistic,and within our abilities.A decent striker added would push us into the play offs,but in Jim Magilton have we a manager capable of getting us promoted,sorry i dont think so.

Recent history shows that rarely more than one of those that come down go straight back up again. Newcastle are bust they may be for sale for £80m but they owe another Ashley company £100m. No one is going to pay that kind of money for a championship club and they are a great value bet for relegation.

Middlesboro are also in trouble financially and I think they are going to be mid tableish. West Brom will go back up.
