Ireland never wanted to go to Villa imo, but was forced to as part of the Milner deal.

He was Man City's player of the year the season before that, i believe under Hughes, so would not surprise me if he went in for him as probably wouldn't cost much and would slip into Faurlin's spot very well indeed.

He is a very good player.
