Not sure if your being sarcastic but Alex must be on 80k+ and he probably isn't keen on joining us (understandably) and if this one is done (I highly doubt it will) it will be late in the window IMO.

No mate, not being sarcastic. If rumours are to be believed that is "only" five thousand more than Barton is on. Am sure Alex accepts late on in his career moving away from a top five side there might have to be some compromises on salary. His agent was going around two days ago giving off the record quotes saying he was keen to join us and Chelsea want him off-loaded asap. If it happens in the next few days I will be absolutely delighted but the more you hear the more you start to wonder if there isn't a bit of a crisis going on at Loftus Rd - and if we don't bring in anyone other than loan signings in the next week or so that will be further cause for concern. Badly hope I'm wrong.

Exactly, we as a fan base can't have it both ways - moaning the squad isnt good enough then moaning about the financial exposure if/ when the board are prepared to put their money where their mouth is.
