If we've got £8-9m to spend on a single player, it should go on the best centre back possible. We've got a decent striker sitting on the bench (well sometimes-DJ) and I don't think that's our real problem. For me, it's all about sorting out the defence, so if we can get Samba or Bassong, we'd be in business.
I'd also like either Wayne Bridge or Liam Ridgewell (or both), so Traore can move into midfield.
A good likely team would be:
Kenny
Young Ferdinand Bassong Bridge
SWP Barton Faurlin Traore
Taarabt
HH or DJ
We're not far off from having a decent team, once of course we strengthen our defence, and that's why I think a striker is a lesser priority.
