He's got a much better record than Di Carmine had before he joined, and Parejo, Ledesma and Alberti for that matter, all of whom were fairly unproven but showing potential, whereas this guy actually has a proven record. Plus at 28, unlike those players, he's at his physical peak.

The argument that his team got relegated despite him scoring all those goals could actually be turned on its head i.e. he could have scored even more in a thriving team.

A degree of xenophobia appears to lie behind a lot of this board's posts.

Dont care what nationality striker the board bring in but its other CCC teams buying and bidding for the likes of Cox, Evans and Beckford while we go for another unknown Italian Paladini player that has me worried. Why not bid for the players (too late for Cox) for 2 or 3 million instead of doing everything on the cheap? Billionaires your having a laugh. Last season all over again if we lose Buzz or Vine to injury.

Apparantly has good scoring record and will find the back of the net. Sure he will figure on Sunday and I now know he was with the squad on Wednesday, still donćt know if he will sign though.

Pete - Where do you get that he has a good scoring record ?. Admittedly he got 18 in 38 for two clubs TWO SEASONS AGO but last season only 6 in 36. At only 5'11" and I feel another HH coming on.Can't believe FB might be parting with £1m on the evidence of 2 friendlies.

widen the search by all means as long as the player is scouted by a scout who reccomends the player on his suitability for the position the manager is looking to fill........reckon that has happened? or reckon Paladini is after another brown envelope?

Everyones uneasy after last season's parejo antics! But thats no reason for this player to be written off, he deserves a chance so we should give it to him.

...and therein lies the rub :grimace: Like you, I have my suspicions, but without real proof I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt with regard to this particular player, because (a) on paper he looks a better prospect than last season's foreign buys and (b) I'm seeing early signs that the board may have learnt from some of last season's mistakes .

I must admit, I am also concerned about our transfer targets.

We spent £3.5m on a player that we did not need or even heard of.:electric_shock:

We have sold our best potential player to forest who will coach him and will make him a 20 goal season player.:electric_shock:

yet our aim is a £1m player that we have never heard of and will struggle in this league. :electric_shock:

Our other striker is D Connolly, who at 32 is past his best and will be lucky to make 5 goals this season.:electric_shock:

After two seasons we still have not bought a left back or right back.:electric_shock:

IMO I think we will finish 8th, and the sad thing about this is that if vine or buzsaky gets an injury, we will struggle again! :electric_shock:
