I think relegated teams always have horrendous winless/pointless streaks that eventually do for them. Rather than setting midway targets and assuming that having 12 points after 9 games equals having 24 pts after 18 games it's best to just keep picking points fairly regularly and avoiding 3 losses on the spin type scenarios.
It still vexes me that our "gimme" against Bolton was a bleeding disaster and it makes you realise you can't take ANY fixture for granted.
