Connolly seems like he can do a job. Won't offer much but he's quite solid at the back. Or if Gabbidon is fit put him there and play hall and ferdinand at center half.

we will miss Armand Traore pace badly, I just feel faurlin could do a job there for us while he out and put Buzsaky in who can fit in to how we play!

Faurlin would be wasted at the back.

Faurlin should never play at the back. His natural position in a defendeing midfielder as he has a good vision from the midfield. We can play Orr.

Orr, nice a man as he is :-) , was struggling at times last season in his proper right back position -- playing him out of position one division up would be unthinkable. If Gabbidon's back, he can play left back, if not, then it will have to be Connolly (would be unfair to recall Clint Hill for one game).
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

History tells us Matt Connolly will slot into the LB position.

Has done ok in the short time he has had this season.

I wouldn't put Faurlin in. It's definitely a problem area for us and I think that's probably a large part of why Neil was so frustrated at Traore for getting sent off. I would rather see Gabbidon in left back than Connolly if fit.

Its a no brainer, just look at the decision made vs Newcastle when Traore got injured; he brought on Conners as a sraight swap, not Buzz on then Faurlin to LB, wouldnt make much sense putting argueably your best CM out at LB where he has never played before.

Although MUCH rather Traore obviously, I think Conners will be alright. He wont offer half as much going forward but defensivley he will be OK, i have no qualms about him being there for 1 game (2 yellows is just the 1 game I believe?).

Connolly had a good game at Everton with a virus. Was fine at Wigan. Wasn't at fault for any of their goals and was solid when he came on for the Newcastle home game. No brainer in my opinion.

orr rightback young left back for one game.

traore should only miss 1 game due to it being a double yellow not straight red
