Agreed. Just becasue he's talking to Liverpool doesn't necessarrily mean he will choose to go to them, or that City have agreed any fee with them. Plus Liverpool will be among the Champions leagus clubs this season and could potentially deny Man City 2nd or 3rd place for example, meaning additional qualifiers.

Why would they risk that and sell a player to a rival who would improve their chances of doing just that?

Hopefully he may want games rather than splinters anyway.
