Please don't be greedy folks, 1 month ago I would sign Anton Ferdinand in a heartbeat. He might be not Dann, but he's a regular PL starter in a decent top 10 team. He's only 26 too.

I think £5 million for Dann is a good deal personally. There aren't many quality centre backs around and Anton Ferdinand is definitely not one of them. Probably better than what we have, but not by much. I can imagine he's on a pretty hefty wage at Sunderland.

Not two weeks ago so many people on this forum were telling us that all our defenders were pony - not good enough for the EPL - now we are liked with one who has been holding down a place in a top half PL team, he apparently is not good enough either?

Ferdinand has not been a regular at Sunderland for ages. And is absolute pony. No better than Gorkks - I'd also take a punt on moving Borrowdale inside to CB rather than Ferdinand.

Anton Ferdinand is a great signing. We are improving all areas of the squad imo, Big thumbs up from me.

Hasn't he played every pre season game and started all games in the prem this season Nodge? I could be wrong though as haven't checked.

You stump up the five million for him then! As another poster said, remember where we were a few weeks ago

He'd get into our team no doubt, but we are reported to be paying £4 million and he's in the last year of his contract. Makes Dann for £5 million look like an absolute bargain.

Doesn't say a lot considering the start they've had.... think he played against Brighton in the cup also....

He's played the full 90 mins in all three matches this season and except for a brilliant free kick from Ryan Taylor and a mistake from Kieran Richardson to let Suarez in they've been defensively solid this season.
