We are short at LB and RB at the moment so I can't see this happening. We need two (good) players for every position and not CB's playing at full back.

We can't have it all ways though expecting lots of new recruits. Hugely grateful for what Clint has done for us but we are clearly planning to bring in a left back. If Warno decides Connolly or Gabidon can deputise if need be then so be it.

Are we counting Connolly as a LB now? What do you think? I think he isn't good enough to be a PL CB.

Not as first choice, no, but for two or three games a season if and when the new left back is suspended or whatever I wouldn't have a problem with that. Clint has been a great servant but he looked at least as out of his depth against Bolton as Connolly has so far. Plus there's Gabidon.

"IF" we get a LB in the window, and Leeds put an offer down that's not derisery, i think it may well happen as there is flexibility with the CB's we have (assuming we also strengthen that area).

However, if they offer peanuts i think Warnock will keep him in reserve as he is one of his players, he knows he can rely on him to perform when asked and give 110% even if only selected for a handful of games....

He goes back a long way with Clint, who is also from the north. Strongly suspect Neil would give Clint the choice saying you are mainly going to be back up this season but you are great to have around so if you want to stay, do - but I'll reluctantly let you go if you want one last pay day, the chance of first team football and possibly another glorious promotion season. A couple of months ago no one would have believed we would let Kaspers go. The club is changing fast.

I've assumed that Clint could be used as a sort of mentor/minder for Joey.... sort of showing a fellow scally the ropes in the smoke and keeping him on the straight and narrow. Clint's worth a squad number in his own right in my view but the role of helping Joey settle in could be another reason to keep him.

Might not be everyones cup of tea as a Prem player, but you can't buy an attitude like his.
Would definitely keep him at the club. Unless of course he wants to go.

Would prefer him to go to west ham than Leeds! Allardyce as manager would suit him. Saying that, I love Clint hill, first defender we had in years that I had total confidence in last year. Still reckon he can do a job at centre back for us over hall, gabbidon. The man has passion!
