I think the tweets and comments about not wanting to leave Newcastle are for the benefit of the fans - with whom he has a fantastic relationship. I think he really cares what they think and that is a mark of the man - he is misunderstood by some, and I know he's had some grief in the past but he has grown up a lot and is an intelligent human being if you take the time to listen to him talk. I'm not saying he's a saint nor am I suggesting his past should be forgotten but credit him with some nouse at the very least

Good news if true, and IF he does sign it will show our intent but more importantly I believe it will encourage other big names to follow suit.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

I don't think he's worth more than £5m possibly £6m either but if he were to come and we stay up it would be money well spent. The situation we have right now which we've never experienced is the transfer window being properly shut instead of being able to dip into the loan system when it suits us. If Derry or Faurlin get injured/suspended we have nobody to fill the void. We have players who could play there but nobody who can play those positions. If Parker came and played alongside Derry and either got injured we'd have Faurlin in reserve (or Faurlin starts and Derry in reserve). Previously we could deal with injuries because we could go to a bigger club and ask for a player but that no longer applies and that is why NW will do all he can to strengthen in every department.Originally posted by Rieger View PostComment
