I think at 32 he will realise those sort of contracts are behind him. He'd be looking at about 30k a week.Originally posted by Rsonist View PostYoung's a good player but he's supposedly on 50k a week at Villa and turned down a move to Liverpool last season cos he didn't fancy taking a pay cut. Wouldn't want us to be paying anywhere near that.

a no-nonsense rightback who can play left back. however he is one of those players for me that i've never rated. would rather we go for pace in the fullback positions aswell.
our squad doesnt need that much more experience. it needs quality and pace.Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

For a team first and foremost looking to survive, Young would give us the quality. He's not a top 10 player but considering just who is out there and how much they would cost, Young would be a very good purchase especially considering the alternatives. Orr was solid in the Championship and by all accounts was ok on Saturday but NW clearly see Dyer as first choice and neither are a defensively sound as Luke Young.Originally posted by GaxZE View Posta no-nonsense rightback who can play left back. however he is one of those players for me that i've never rated. would rather we go for pace in the fullback positions aswell.

I agree about the pace but if we can ensure that we have a strong back four with Derry and Faurlin sitting in then we will be a tough team to crack and will have less need for pace in the immediate future. Big if of course, because to become a strong back four we arguably need three signings but with the likes of Young, Onouha and Simpson being banned around plus Van Aanholt, Traore and Bertrand were mentioned a few weeks ago that would be the type of defensive unit I'm talking about. Three from that long alongside Gabbidon or Hall with Kenny and Derry is a great defensive unit.
