Everton pal of ours said we had 300 upper Bullens & sold out the bottom 1500 so approx 1800 which is a great turn out.
I have 2 pix of the R's contingent on my BlackBerry that my scouse pal took. When I get on the lappy later I will try & upload them. (Not sure how too?)Last edited by Guest; 21-08-2011, 12:58 PM.Comment

I think you should be moaning about not selling the first home game rather than the first away.
I was there and cost me best part of 130 pounds.
And i did think WTF when the team was announced.
And i don't want to spend a lot of money to see my team tonked as the money i pay is for entertainment and not just following it around getting tonked.
When i bought the ticket i thought we had a chance of comming away with a point.
But hey i will take three points and a fab day as well to boot.Comment

Finances is the major issue for most of us. I just cannot afford to go two weeks running to northern away games. I decided a couple of weeks ago that I'd go to Wigan rather than Everton as I've been to Goodison several times in the past, but never to Wigan. For the size of our support overall, our away following must be one of the best in the league, so I don't know why some of our own fans would want to knock it.Comment

A very sensible post and I think that is why w12 picked up on young del's point. I think you have summed it up and put this debate to bed.I think you should be moaning about not selling the first home game rather than the first away.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!Comment

I reckon 1t was around 1500 but that doesnt really matter, we had less than that when we won 5-3 and less the following year when we won 3-0 what was important was that the 1500 odd thet were there gave brilliant vocal support to the team, warnock and fernades
the everton fans certainly were left with no uncertainty that Rangers are back.its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworksComment

Obviously the more that go to away games the better support for the team, but I don't think that we should be critical of the numbers. Whether it was 1200 or 1800. The important point is that those who went yesterday gave the team outstanding support. We outsang 33,000 Evertonians, who in my opinion gave their team very poor support.
After spending over £300 for 3 of us to go to Everton, we cant afford to go to Wigan next week, but have no doubt that we'll be there in spirit, and I am totally confident that those who do go will do our team and us proud.
Last season myself and my family went to about 13 of the away games, and generally our away support is great, both in numbers and volume.Comment

i was sat in gladys street with evton pal n he said our support was very tidy compared to the boltons/wigans/blackburns who never bring more than 500 and are just up the rd....oh n those mugs along the fulham palace rd aint brought over 1500 in total last five seasons!you know nothing john snow!!!!Comment

Our away support last years was immense, second only to leeds. We could have less numbers this season but we'll def be one of the loudest.

On the official site's match report, it says "with a noisy away crowd of just under 2'000..." or something like that, so the number of 1'800 should be correct, unless we had slightly more, but around 1'800 and 1'950 is likely.Comment

Where does that tell you our away support it just totals up away attendances? Our away support last years was immense, second only to leeds. We could have less numbers this season but we'll def be one of the loudest.
