I don't get why people keep going on about the best defence in the country last season. We wernt exactly playing against the likes of Rooney, Tevez, etc. I am sure there was probably many sunday teams with better defensive records, does that make them have the best defence record in the country?.

Spot on, I really do find it quite painful at times and because connolly has an ok game at left back people get moaned at for questioning him. I would like some pace added to the team and most of that pace should be new defenders. Championship level u can get away with a lack of it but we need to ask more from our full backs because at the mo u can't even ask them to enter the oppositions half because they just aren't good enough.

You can only defend what youre up against. And for that they did very well. Dont see how some can knock them for that.

All we had this summer was how good West Ham were gonna be this year. Well, they've conceded another 2 today. Teams score for fun the Championship and to keep 25 clean sheets last season was very impressive and regardless of your views the main defence that got us promoted back to the Premiership will always be remembered for Orr, Gorks, Connolly and Hill. They did their job.

You can only defend against who youre up against.... Even i would be impressed if we could have kept clean sheets against "Rooney, Tevez, etc" whilst playing Swansea, Barnsley and Sheff Utd...
