I am not disputing the enormous size of Celtic and Rangers' fanbase - I am attacking Nodge's argument that because Kenny Miller played for both these clubs it makes him a better striker than DJ Campbell, who showed last season that he is capable of scoring regularly in the Premiership. Let's face it, the quality of Scottish football is poor and just because a player has achieved limited success in the SPL (Miller's done well at Rangers, but only scored 6 times in 33 appearances at Celtic) does not mean that he will be able to cope in the Premiership. Look at Kris Boyd last season - Rangers' all-time record goalscorer. His performances last season in the Championship were unremarkable to say the very least. In fact, during Miller's last spell in England with Derby County, he only netted 4 goals in 30 appearances.

I don't think anyone believes that DJ Campbell is going to challenge the likes of Rooney and Drogba, but he showed last season that he does have goalscoring ability and he would be a decent addition to the squad in my view.

Do people forget that Miller has played in the Premier League and scored 11 goals for a relegated side in addition to the goals scored in the CL and Internationals?

So he's done exactly the same as Campbell in PL terms but added bells and whistles elsewhere. Not sure why this makes him a poorer player?

So how come Miller's goals for a relegated PL side plus CL and international goals make him worse than someone with an almost identical PL record but zero CL or international experience?

Miller has only played in the Premiership on two occasions, during spells with Wolves (2003/04 season) and Derby (2007/08 season). He spent much of the 2003/04 campaign injured and only managed two PL goals for Wolves (against United and Liverpool). For Derby, he only netted 4 goals. So, actually, DJ Campbell has scored more PL goals (13) in one campaign than Miller has in his entire career.

As for your claim that 'Miller scores regularly in the Champions League', his goal against Bursaspor in December 2010 was his first CL goal in a DECADE (read this). Internationally, since 2001, he has scored 14 goals for Scotland in 55 appearances. It's an average record - Helguson has almost scored as many for Iceland (12 goals).

No offence or anything, but do your research before making players like Kenny Miller sound Van Nistelrooy/Romario-esque. I'm not saying he's a bad player (he's prolific at a certain level), but please...

He has scored 6 goals in 55 games in his 2 PL seasons.....
